How long have Molly Meldrum and Yan Wongngam been together?
It’s unclear when these two officially met, but Molly told New Idea in July 2021 that they’d been in one another’s lives for decades.
“We’ve been together for 30 or so years,” he told the publication.
Yan owns a courier company in Thailand, and on a fateful day at a Bangkok gym, the businessman unexpectedly met our Aussie legend, and they hit it off.

While having a dual-country relationship sounds like fun during normal times in a COVID world, it becomes a nightmare situation for couples who share two homes in different nations.
Molly told New Idea that the separation had been “very hard” on him because a lot of his life is in Thailand.
I have a lot of other friends and family in Thailand, too – it’s my second home. As soon as the borders open and we can travel, we’ll be together,” Molly stated.
Luckily, the world is slowly opening up again for Australians, which meant Molly could attend his late friend Bert Newton’s funeral with Yan by his side.
The couple looked somber as they entered the church, and it marked a sighting of them in public together. The only other time they have been photographed at an event together was at the Mushroom Group’s 40th anniversary at Thousand Pound Ben in February 2013.

The couple has no plans to tie the knot despite LGBTQIA+ marriage’s legalisation.
In conversation with Dailylife.com.au in 2016, Molly revealed that a wedding wasn’t on the cards because they didn’t feel it was necessary for their relationship.
“My partner, Yan Wongngam, and I aren’t married. We met 13 years ago. He has a courier business in Thailand and we met in Bangkok,” he revealed.
“Same-sex marriage is fine but it’s not our thing. If people want to do it, then they should.”
