Australian model Annalise Braakensiek has been found dead, aged 46.
On Sunday afternoon, police officers were called to her Sydney home after close friends and family became concerned for her welfare.
According to News.com.au, after a series of concerning and cryptic Instagram posts, the former Home and Away and Fat Pizza actress stopped replying to texts and “hadn’t been heard from for a few days”, prompting her close network to call for help.
Emergency services arrived at her apartment at 3.30pm, Sunday and found her deceased.
There were no suspicious circumstances and police are now preparing a report for the coroner, however, the body has yet to be formally identified.
In April 2018, Annalise split up with her husband, Danny Goldberg, after 16 years together and it was here that she purchased the Potts Point apartment where she was found.
In mid-December last year, Annalise took to Instagram in one of many unnerving posts.
“Everything seems to feel twisted and upside down at the moment… am I right?!!!! Life’s challenges have been deep, dark, difficult, demanding and down right scary lately. For me and so many others I know. But today is a new day!” she wrote.
She then went on to say that she was moving out of her “beloved” Bondi, “which has been my home since I first moved to Sydney as a young teenager”, and into a “gorgeous new area”.
“New beginnings in every way whilst doing my best to mindfully continue to let go of what doesn’t serve me or my higher self well. Sheesh it’s hard work, just like practicing yoga and headstands ! But I know it’s good for me and ultimately all the pain and hard times are going to be a blessing 🙌 and here’s to looking at it all from a new perspective too 💫🌙Time to breathe in the new beginnings and let go of the old….. bring on 2019 already I say!!!!”
In 2017, Annalise acted as an RUOK? Day ambassador.
In an interview with Channel 7s The Daily Edition she said: “It was the … negative reaction people had to me being depressed and falling under the dark cloud.”
“In many ways my life is wonderful, for which I’m extremely grateful and there’s no doubting that, but when you’re suffering these kinds of things for people to say how dare you — you’re a model, you’re a millionaire, you’re round the world,” she said on air. “That’s got nothing to do with this.”
Tributes are flowing in this morning for the model, with many of her community taking to Twitter to share the condolences.
