Their adorable romance ended in tears back in 2013, when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth called off their engagement.
At the time, Miley was 20 and Liam 23. It’s believed that Liam wasn’t on board with Miley’s dramatic transformation from Disney darling to a racy pop star who openly dabbled in drugs.
But now, almost three years on and a little older and wiser, it appears the pair have decided to give their romance another go.
Miley was spotted in Byron Bay attending the iconic Falls Festival over the weekend and a grainy photo taken by a fan on Instagram shows Liam by her side in a car park.
The Daily Telegraph claims they were “kissing and cuddling”.
It’s believed they were staying with Liam’s big brother Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky, who live on the NSW North Coast.
The news follows recent comments from Liam about his ill-fated engagement.
“You fall in love with who you fall in love with,” he told Men’s Fitness in October. “You can never choose. I guess some people just come with more baggage.”
Tellingly, he added, “We were together for five years. I don’t think those feelings will ever change.”
He recently also adopted a dog with the help of Miley, an outspoken rescue-animal activist.
Woman’s Day understands one person who may not be thrilled about Liam and Miley’s reunion is his mum Leonie, a teacher from Phillip Island.
It’s widely reported that she wasn’t a fan of Miley’s famously raunchy dress sense, which definitely adheres to the “less is more” philosophy.
When they were still engaged, Leonie apparently “freaked out” over Miley’s newfound dedication to bearing her behind.
“Leonie is a very conservative teacher. She informed Liam she was very upset. She doesn’t want the future mother of her grandkids walking around with her bottom hanging out,” a source told The National Enquirer at the time.
