Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth sparked fevered excitement among fans that they were back on after ringing in the New Year together, but a new report from TMZ claims the formerly engaged couple have been secretly reunited for months!
“They’ve been back in each other’s lives since the fall [Australian spring],” a source tells the American gossip website.
It’s believed that the pair fell for each other all over again when Miley saw a huge, six-month-old rescue dog and instantly thought she would be perfect for her ex-fiancee, who broke off their engagement in 2013.
It was love at first sight for Liam and his rescue dog.
“Miley sent him a ton of photos,” an employee from Wylder’s Holistic Pet Centre said in November.
“Liam got back from China and literally came right into Wylders to take the dog home. The dog is super gentle and sweet and took right to Liam, despite being afraid of men.”
The rest, as they say, is history. Liam – who met Miley on the set of their 2010 film The Last Song – named his new fur baby Dora (after children’s character Dora the Explorer, of course!) and kept Miley up to date with how she was progressing.
According to reports, they began video-chatting and texting, and Miley looked after Dora recently while Liam was out of town.
TMZ’s sources say that while Miley is still hesitant to call Liam her “boyfriend” yet, the pair is “definitely beyond the friend zone”.
