Ridley Scott was celebrated for his choice to reshoot All the Money in the World to replace accused rapist Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer, but it turned out to be a case of all the pay disparity in the world.

It’s now emerged there was a staggering difference in salaries for the 10-day reshoot at the end of November between Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams – millions in fact.

Wahlberg reportedly managed to be paid $2 million for the reshoot while the single mother travelled to Italy over Thanksgiving for just $80 a day – the minimum amount a SAG/AFTRA actor must be paid per day.

Agency WME represents both Wahlberg and Williams so everyone in the mix was reportedly well aware she was paid just 0.04% of her male co-star’s salary.

Williams said she felt so invigorated the film was taking a proactive stance in the wake of the Spacey allegations she would work for free on the reshoot.

She stressed she was prepared to sacrifice both her holidays and pay given the situation, but Williams is understood to have thought everyone was donating their time for the reshoots.

In fact, Scott himself seemed to be under the impression everyone was doing the reshoot for free based on interviews he’s given while promoting the film.

“I thought I would have to raise my daughter to learn how to protect herself in a dangerous world, but I think the work that Tarana has done and the work that I’m learning how to do — we actually have the opportunity to hand our children a different world,” Williams said on the E! red carpet pre-show.

“I am honored beyond measure to be standing next to this woman. I have tears in my eyes and smile on my face.”
