Michelle Bridges has broken her silence after a harrowing month, which involved announcing her split from long-time partner Steve ‘Commando’ Willis, and being charged with a drink driving offence while their four-year-old son Axel was in the car.
The mum-of-one took to Instagram to share an emotional statement, where she detailed what has been her “toughest month” to date and thanked the people who had rallied around her during the testing time.
Accompanying a picture of Bridges looking out over a sunset on the beach, the statement read: “The last month has been the toughest time of my life.
“What I’d like to say is thank you – to my loved ones, my friends, my team, and to all who have reached out to me. I have received so many messages of kindness from both strangers and people I know.”
The fitness guru continued: “The biggest thank you to you all. I know the remorse and guilt won’t go away, but I’m determined to keep moving forward, working hard and being thankful for all the good in my life. Mish x”
The statement comes a week after Bridges pleaded guilty to a drink-driving charge, which occurred on Australia Day while her four-year-old son, Axel, was in the car.
She was given a three-month ban from driving and $750 fine.
Bridges spoke to the Daily Telegraph shortly after the incident occurred on Australia Day, saying: “I would like to express my deep regret for breaking the law, this was a terrible mistake and an error of judgment.”
“This behaviour is inexcusable, and I am absolutely devastated and embarrassed to find myself in this position.”
Michelle went on to explain another testing event that had rattled her this year – her split from partner Steve.
“It has been a very difficult time for me the last few weeks dealing with the break-up of my long-term relationship. This is by no means an excuse for my behaviour but I feel the emotional turmoil I have been going through has impacted my decision making. I am extremely sorry for my actions.”

The former Biggest Loser star has been candid about her relationship with Steve in the past, once telling Now To Love: “We pick up on each other’s vibes on what’s happening at any given moment so sometimes he’ll just go and do a workout or I’ll be like, ‘You know what, go do your thing.”
The pair went public with their relationship in 2013 after they fell in love on the weight loss reality television show.
Michelle last posted about Steve on her Instagram page back in December, when she shared a sweet picture of the pair alongside the caption: “No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path” May I continue to walk the path with you… 🥰💋🙏🏼 @commandosteve”
