Barack and Michelle Obama cover the new issue of Essence magazine looking picture perfect as ever.
But it’s not the cover shot that’s causing the most excitement online, it’s this one from the shoot inside.
Twitter users losing their collective minds over the photo, which shows FLOTUS and POTUS holding hands in a shadow-cast light. And there are a couple of reasons why.
Firstly, in true social media lexicon, they’re labeling the image ‘relationship goals’, presumably because they look totally, undeniably in love.
Secondly, people are admiring and calling out Michelle’s body for looking so great.
We have to agree on both counts. This is one gorgeous couple.
Michelle spoke to the magazine about their time in The White House coming to an end, and what it means to her.
“I think when it comes to Black kids, it means something for them to have spent most of their life seeing the family in the White House look like them. It matters. All the future work that Barack talked about, I think over these last few years, we’ve kind of knocked the ceiling of limitation off the roofs of many young kids; imaginations of what’s possible for them. And as a mother, I wouldn’t underestimate how important that is, having that vision that you can really do anything—not because somebody told you, but because you’ve seen and experienced it. I think that will be a lasting impact on our kids.”
We hope America is missing her already – they should be.
