Melissa Etheridge has officially chosen her side in Brangelina’s bitter divorce battle.
The rock singer and former close friend of the actor has slammed Brad’s estranged wife, while calling the accusations of his verbal and physical assault against his children “completely unfounded.”
“It breaks my heart that anyone would take something as personal as your marriage and your relationship and your rights to your children and do it as purposefully as I see it’s being done,” she told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show.
The 55-year-old then went on to reveal, that although she has unfortunately lost touch with Brad, she hopes that he finds the courage to reconnect during his difficult time.
Melissa spoke out, calling the allegations of Brad’s alleged abuse “completely unfounded.”
“I really hope that he reaches back out because there are a lot of us who haven’t seen him in 10 years, and it was hard then,” she said, adding: “We all lost a friend.”
Digging all the way back into Angelina’s pre-Brad relationship archives, Melissa then recalls the “nasty” way the Salt star began her romance with Billy Bob Thornton, who reportedly broke up with his then-finance, Laura Dern, to marry Ange shortly after.

“I was around when Angelina was not doing nice things with Billy Bob to Laura Dern. I went through that on a personal level, and then to know the side of Jennifer and Brad…”
“I helped Laura move out of her house with Billy Bob – I like broke into their home to get their stuff out because it was so nasty,” she recalled.
At the time of the split, Laura told Talk magazine, “I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again.”
Ange used to have a tattoo of Billy Bob’s name on her upper arm. It was a decision she later regretted and had removed after their split.
The veteran rocker, who funnily enough sang at Brad’s 2000 wedding to Jennifer Aniston, then recalled her own bitter custody battle with ex Tammy Lynn over their twins in reference to her pal’s current situation.
“I’ve gone through family courts. I’ve been twice around this block, and I know it really well, and I know when there’s some forethought to just how mean and just how you’re going to put disinformation out there first,” she shared.

Melissa has long run in the same Hollywood circles as Brad, which ensured the pair’s status as close pals
Earlier this year, the musician revealed to Studio 10 that at one point their friendship was so strong that she considered asking the Fight Club star to be the sperm donor for her kids.
“Well actually, because [Brad Pitt] was such a good friend of mine and we did consider it and yet, I looked and I saw how badly we wanted children and I thought, ‘I don’t want to share this with someone who really, badly wants children because my children don’t need another parent – they have two,” she said.
Adding: “Of course now my teenagers are like, ‘I could have had Brad Pitt as my dad!’ My son said, ‘I could’ve been amazingly handsome!'”
Brad Pitt in said to be “totally crushed” by the events of the past few weeks.
Of course, fans would know that Melissa and her then-partner Julie Cypher later welcomed two beautiful children with the help of David Crosby.
“It’s one of the reasons why David Crosby and his wife are so perfect – because they already had children,” the proud mum explained.
“They were looking to do this as a gift. And my children are lovely and gorgeous anyway.”
