She’s one of Australia’s most successful supermodels, but Megan Gale has revealed she would leave the modelling industry if she was forced into cosmetic procedures in order to get work.
Gale, who turns 40 this year, sat down with The Weekly this month for a wide-ranging interview.
“I’m clearly mindful of the fact that I don’t look the same way that I did when I was 20,” says the face of L’Oreal Paris.
“If the time ever came that I wasn’t getting work or I didn’t have value anymore because I was ageing then I wouldn’t go ‘OK well, I need to get to fix it and get procedures done’; I would leave the industry.”
The stunning brunette recently returned from the Cannes Film Festival where she joined fellow L’Oreal ambassadors Eva Longoria, Jane Fonda and Julianne Moore on the red carpet.
“They’re a great group of women to look up to and to follow,” she says.
“[L’Oreal] are definitely pro-hiring women that are into their 30s, 40s and beyond which is great.”
The 39-year-old also spoke about her son, River, who she and partner and AFL star Shaun Hampson welcomed last year and how motherhood has changed her.
“[River] is such a wonderful blessing,” Gale tells The Weekly. “It’s by far the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life, but by far the most rewarding.
“He makes us laugh every day.”
