It’s the ultimate 80’s love match!
American actress, Meg Ryan, 56, and her beau, John Mellencamp, 67 (whose song Hurts So Good is played at every pub in Australia) have announced their engagement.
In an epic Instagram post on Friday, the When Harry Met Sally star shared a hand-drawn illustration of the pair, along with the caption “ENGAGED”!
Meg was spotted out and about in New York City sporting a diamond ring – and confirmed the news, just hours later.
The pair began dating in 2011 and then called off their relationship in 2014, however, finally reunited for good in 2016.

The rom-com star has had a slew of famous husband/boyfriends in the past including her marriage to actor Dennis Quaid, a relationship with Russell Crowe and was also even spotted with Matthew Perry from FRIENDS.
She also has two children, including son Jack, 26, with ex-husband Dennis Quaid, and an adopted daughter, Daisy, from China.
The Jack and Diane singer, however, has five children and his marriage to Meg will be his fourth, including an 18-year marriage to Elaine Irwin.
While the news is exceptionally happy, Meg is no stranger to drama in the spotlight.
From being dubbed “America’s Sweetheart” to “adulteress”, which refers to the demise of her relationship with her ex-husband, allegedly because of an affair with Russell Crowe.
The actress also had a slew of box office flops, which sealed the deal for a flailing acting career – which is now non-existent.
Last year, the You’ve Got Mail star proved that nothing could hold her down, as stepped out looking flawless at CFDA awards, which honours designers presented by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
