His vibrant wife Patti bubbled with excitement on the phone as she broke the happy news. Their much-loved daughter Lauren, a proud first-time mum, was doing well. Her husband, Olympic swim star Matt Welsh, was beaming as if he’d already won gold at Beijing. The couple had a beautiful baby son.
