Maz said her “world fell apart” following the sudden death of her manager and mentor Mark Byrne in September.

While the tragedy struck the usually bubbly personality hard, she decided to give up drinking as a tribute to the man she credits for her successful career in media.

Speaking about her dependency on booze, Maz wrote, “my life was slowly unravelling into a disaster zone.”

“I would drive my car to a party with the intention of just having one or two and find myself still fully-clothed in my bed the next day nursing a hangover with a taxi receipt hanging out of my purse and zero idea how I got home,” she added.

The former host of 2DayFM’s Dan and Maz show says what was supposed to be a one-month ban of alcohol turned into a permanent lifestyle choice.

“The stress of my world became more manageable, my relationships were flourishing, I seemed to be a better, more in control, more thoughtful, positive, fun and fit human,” she confessed.
