Bachelor star Matty J Johnson has announced an unexpected career move!
The father-of-two took to Instagram on Monday night to reveal he landed a role in Stan’s latest original movie, Christmas Ransom.
“I’M IN A MOVIE!!! @stanaustralia were looking for someone to play role of Sam the firefighter and apparently I fit the bill. Mid-thirties, sensitive, a little slow (not sure if I should be offended or not)” Matty penned.
Matty and his co-star Chai Hansen shared a photo from set, showing the pair donning firefighter outfits while sitting in front of a fire truck.
“Thanks to @chaihansen for being the ultimate wingman on set,” the 35-year-old continued.
Christmas Ransom, which will come out in time for the festive season, is a Stan Original Film from the creators of A Sunburnt Christmas.
The family flick features an ensemble of beloved Aussie stars, including comedian Matt Okine, TV Week Logie Award-winner Miranda Tapsell and Puberty Blues star Ed Oxenbould.
“Christmas Ransom will bring the same irreverent humour and warmth everyone loved in A Sunburnt Christmas, with the added fun of some wild, high-stakes action hijinks,” Drew Grove, CEO and Executive Producer at Every Cloud Productions, said.
“With a lot of mischief and heart, it will give everyone the chance to laugh, cry and cheer together for a film that is sure to become one of Australia’s classic Christmas tales.”
While the upcoming Stan Original is Matty’s first foray into film, he has been a regular on Aussie TV since finding fame on The Bachelorette back in 2016.
In May, Matty announced he landed a special guest appearance on iconic ABC kids show Playschool.
“Today’s gig might be the best one I’ve ever gotten.. finished product coming soon! #bucketlist” the former reality star captioned a photo from the Playschool set.
Matty also enjoys regular appearances on The Living Room, Studio 10 and Have You Been Paying Attention?.
