The new year is off to a great start for sexy actor Matthew McConaughey after he and his partner, Brazilian model Camila Alves, welcomed a little girl into their family.
Camila gave birth to the couple’s second child on January 3, 2010, at 12.13am and Matthew wasted no time sharing the good news with his fans via his website.
“Happy new year everyone! On Sunday, January 3 at 12.13am, Camila gave birth to a healthy 7lb, 7oz [3.4kg] baby girl named Vida Alves McConaughey,” Matthew wrote.
“‘Vida’ is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God has given us this morning. Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honoured to welcome this little lady into our family,” he wrote.
“Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers along the way. Another blessed day, we give thanks. Just keep livin’!”
Last year family man Matthew said the couple’s first child, 17-month-old son Levi, was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his new sibling and that the couple had recently spent time “super-child-proofing” their house, Access Hollywood reported in September.
Matthew is a keen blogger and in June 2009 he posted the good news that the couple was expecting their second child. He even went so far as to ask his fans to guess whether the couple would welcome a boy or a girl.
