From just 13-years-old, the Sydneysider was an athlete, breaking the schoolboy records for both the 100m and 200m sprints.

Matt’s athletic history didn’t stop there, he then went to compete in the 1998 Commonwealth Games as a teenager and ran an impressive time of 10.03 seconds.

He continued to compete in a number of sporting events until 2006. Matt ended his career as an athlete with five National Titles in the 100m and five top-three finishes nationally in the 200m.

To this day, Matt is the second fastest in the 100m sprints.
