Mariah Carey struggles to hit the high notes

Mariah Carey struggled to hit the high notes that she is famous for while performing her classic ‘All I want for Christmas’ at a Christmas concert in New York.

Mariah was performing as part of the annual tree lighting ceremony at NBC’s Rockefeller Centre when fans in the audience realised her range isn’t what it used to be and struggled to reach the five octaves that she is famous for.

Singing her smash-hit cover version of the classic All I want for Christmas, Mariah, 44, sounded rather off-key – especially when listening to the version where her vocals are isolated.

Many also commented that Mariah’s vocals were slipping during her recent tour of Tokyo, in which she also apparently dissed her estranged husband Nick Cannon, dropping hints that he’s been cheating. Nick confirmed in August that the pair were living apart.

Mariah’s shaky Rockefeller performance came after she was a no-show at the pre-taping the night before, which disappointed many fans who had waited to see her. TMZ reported that she was handling a call regarding her ex Nick and left her crew waiting outside in the cold rain for three hours.

Mimi later took to Twitter to apologise for the incident, posting that: “Last night’s situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you.”

Sounds like Mariah’s having a rough time at the moment – hopefully she gets the rest she needs over Christmas to come back on top form next year!
