Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have been spotted meeting together for dinner in New York as it seems the pair are trying to work things out amicably amidst talks of divorce.
It’s believed Nick and Mariah went to dinner together in New York on Friday and surprisingly went unnoticed because they kept everything low-key and got along just fine, a source toldTMZ.
It seems the high-profile exes are keen to keep things civil for the sake of their children, twins Moroccan and Monroe, 3, as they work out divorce proceedings.
Nick appeared rather worse for wear as he was seen leaving Mariah’s New York apartment building in New York yesterday. It’s believed he was only there to organise the logistics of the separation as he officially moved out back in May. Wearing a casual grey tracksuit, Nick seemed to want to keep things subdued.
Mariah however, looked far cheerier as was spotted out later that day looking stylish in a wrap dress, killer heels and a glamorous oversized hat as she took the twins out to lunch in NYC accompanied by a large entourage.
Mariah seems keen to direct attention away from her marital strife – it’s even rumoured she has instructed Nick to stop talking about it. “Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour,” her rep toldUs Weeklylast week.
Nick recently revealed he and Mariah have been living apart for months and insiders reportedly toldTMZ they are getting on far better now that they are separated than they ever did when they were together.
Indeed, the relationship had deteriorated between them so badly that they couldn’t even stand to be in the same room together, and as previously reported, Nick was extremely concerned about the “toxic environment” around Mariah.
Nick was reportedly worried about Mariah’s mental and emotional health as he says she is surrounded by yes-men who are simply out to make as much money off her as possible and he did not want his children to grow up in such an environment.
In spite of this, Nick is reportedly hoping to end things as peacefully as possible, instructing his lawyers to “take the path of least resistance”, so things remain amicable between the pair, for the sake of the kids.
The pair have been married for six years, tying the knot in 2008, just one month after first getting together.
