My Kitchen Rules judge and celebrity chef Manu Feildel has gotten himself into trouble with the law after some riotous partying with his pals resulted in the cops coming knocking!
Manu, 41, makes no secret of his love of wine and food and has been noted for his drunken antics in the past. He and a group of his pals were apparently partying up a storm in a North Bondi flat over the weekend, much to the fury of the neighbours, who called the police after being unable to sleep through the raucous noise in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The neighbours said that there was “yelling and screaming” coming from three friends of the TV chef, plus Manu himself.
“To be involved in something like this where he’s disturbing people in the middle of the night is unbelievably bad behaviour,” one neighbour told the Daily Mail.
“Here he is on television being portrayed as this respectable guy when he’s behaving like this. The fact that he’s bothering other people like this is not good enough.”
Perhaps the much-loved Frenchman was perhaps celebrating becoming a dad for the second time after he welcomed daughter Charlee Ariya with his partner Clarissa Weerasena in early February.
The chef originally announced the news via an Instagram post with adorable photo of the bub’s feet, accompanied by the caption: “Welcome to the new love of our lives into this world.”
Manu is already a dad to 10-year-old son Jonti, whom he shares with former partner, Veronica Morshead. The new bub will be Manu and Clarissa’s first child together.
Left: the adorable snap of baby Charlee’s feet that Many shared after her arrival in February. Right: Partying Manu shared this snap of his antics at this year’s MKR launch party.
The hunky chef turned entertainer first met Clarissa, a jewellery designer from Perth back in 2011. The pair got engaged back in 2013, and Manu has said that it was the baby that caused them to postpone their wedding date.
We wonder what Clarissa would have to say about Manu’s Saturday night revelry? It sounds like on this occasion, at least, she was left at home with bub while Manu went out raging. Another neighbour told the Mail that it was “obviously a boy’s own night out” and that the partying could be heard from across the street .
That neighbour continued: “They kept everyone in the area awake. After the police arrived they were quiet though.”
The person whose apartment it was had only moved in a few days prior apparently, but it sounds like they’ve already annoyed most of the neighbours!
“They were screaming and shouting on the balcony,” the neighbour said. “Manu was the ring leader. They were acting like teenagers – climbing on the balcony, gyrating and yelling out. They were very, very loud. It went on for hours.”
Police also confirmed that a noise complaint was made and that they visited the apartment.
“It went on from about 10pm to 2.30am. I was surprised he was part of all this. It was just three or four grown men just going off!”
Hmm, it sounds like next time, Manu might be better off staying at home with the bub!
