New Married At First Sight Australia parents Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have returned to hospital following a health scare only one month after welcoming baby Lucius.
A few days prior to the hospital visit, the pair were giggling over what they originally believed was a blocked milk duct. The dedicated partner that Michael is even tried sucking it clear!
“You’ve got to suck harder than that, the baby sucks harder than that,” Martha said while trying to hold back her laughter.
But in what was supposed to be a quick visit, turned into a three-night stay in hospital.
In a photo of Martha sitting in a hospital bed, Michael wrote: “Turns out Marty has two breast abscesses.”
Breast abscess is a painful infection in the breast tissue, mainly impacting women who are breastfeeding.
“Thought we’d be a few hours, turns out we’re staying overnight,” Michael wrote in an update to fans.
But Michael made an uncomfortable stay a little more bearable with a makeshift bed on a lounge chair, and even bought Lucius a new onesie.
Poor Martha cannot catch a break! Five weeks into her pregnancy with baby Lucius, the mum was diagnosed with a rare condition called hyperemesis gravidarum.
“Which is basically severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is like 24/7,” she previously revealed.
“I literally did not get out of bed for two months, I was so sick. I could not eat or drink anything. There were days that I did not even get up to pee.”
But after an unexpected hospital stay, the family of three have finally returned home.
“Had approximately 34 years worth of antibiotics pumped into me and three days of hospital food,” she revealed on Instagram.
“Home now!”
“Ate a bowl of fennel in the bath, sipping on coconut water and already feel brand new.”
