The Queen of Pop’s first wedding dress will be auctioned next month, along with the star’s veil and shoes, and is expected to fetch between $40,000 – $60,000.
Madonna wore the iconic white gown when she married Sean Penn in 1985 but the couple called time on their marriage after just 27 months of holy matrimony and unholy acrimony.
The wedding ensemble will go under the hammer at a two-day ‘Icons & Idols: Rock ‘n’ Roll’ auction on November 7 and 8 by California-based auctioneer Julien’s, alongside some 140 other unusual items once belonging to the 56-year-old singer.
Also up for sale is the bejewelled inauguration dress that Madonna wore when she played Eva Peron in musical film Evita, the fuchsia dress and fur wrap she wore in her Material Girl music video and Madonna and Penn’s post-marital agreement.
The star’s memorabilia is estimated to fetch over $563,000 at the sale.
Other celebrity lots to go to auction at the Julien’s sale include several items once owned by musicians like John Lennon, Cher, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Prince, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga.

If history is anything to go by, this year’s items will get top dollar. In 2012 Madonna’s iconic cone bras fetched $77,000 at auction.
