Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie’s international custody battle over their son Rocco appears to have turned nasty with the singer cussing him out in front of thousands of fans at a show in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday.
“I’m looking for a husband, not a c—,” Madonna, 57, spoke into the mic as a fan proposed to her in the audience. “I already married a c—.”
Her Madgesty, 57, didn’t clarify which one of her exs she was referring to – Sean Penn whom she was wed to from 1985 to 1989, or Ritchie whom she married in 2000 and divorced from in 2008 – but most bets are on the latter.
The Rebel Heart singer’s relations with Ritchie have turned sour after 15-year-old Rocco headed to the U.K. in December to live with his father and refused to return to the U.S. for the holidays, provoking Madonna to make an appearance in a New York courtroom on Dec. 23, reports PEOPLE.
Despite a New York judge reportedly ordering the teen to return to the US the Rocco opted to remain with his dad.
During her Rebel Heart tour fans have been privy to some controversial behaviour from the veteran performer.
Earlier this week Madonna was accused of being drunk on stage at a show in Kentucky.
She later vehemently denied the claims on social media.
“In Louisville I made a joke about doing a stand comedy act dressed as a clown and being able to drink alcohol,” Madonna wrote on Instagram following the show. “It’s so very interesting how society continues to not only treat me in a totally sexist way (if I a were a man no one would have said a thing) and also continue to take everything I say literally!”
She added: “That’s what happens when people don’t read books and get all information from TMZ.”
Madonna and Ritchie are due in court for a second hearing on Feb. 3.
Despite her personal woes Madonna has been a stalwart icon in pop culture over the past 30 years. Throughout her career she has gone through many revolutions. Here we pay tribute to the singer’s transformational talent.
