And on Sunday, the former child star was out in force as he got to work on the set of The Jim Gaffigan Show in New York.
The 35-year-old cut an unrecognisable figure sporting black-rimmed glasses, a red chequered shirt and long shaggy hair as he filmed scenes for the sitcom, which is based on comedian Jim Gaffigan’s life.
Macaulay has made several appearances on the show, playing a fictionalised version of himself.
Other A-list cameos include Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon and Matthew Broderick.
In December, the actor reprised his role as Kevin for a web series called :DRYVRS .
The haunting spoof shows Kevin as a disgruntled adult, who now works as an Uber driver and has clearly been scarred from his upbringing.
“It’s f^^^ing Christmas, and your whole family goes on vacation and they forget their eight-year-old f^^^ing son,” he rants in the clip.
“All by yourself in the house for a week. I had to fend off my house from two psychopath home invaders. I was just a kid.”
