Although the pair put on smiles for the legion of cameras on race day, Lleyton Hewitt appeared irritated as the couple made their way to the VIP area, with Bec trailing behind him. Punters couldn’t help but notice the tension between Bec and Lleyton, which later erupted in a public argument on the rooftop of the Swisse marquee.

“Lleyton was tense the whole day,” one onlooker observed. “While Bec looked happy to be there and was relaxed and up for the party.”

The couple, who recently celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary, live in the Bahamas with their three kids, Mia, 8, Cruz, 5, and Ava, 3 and have long fought reports their marriage is on the rocks. But this incident has reignited whispers they’re worlds apart, despite their attempt to show a united front at the races.

Tennis star Lleyton, has confirmed he’ll compete in the Australian Open and Davis Cup next year – still hoping he has a grand-slam career ahead. His commitment to the sport though is a source of contention for the couple as it’s the determining factor in where the family is stationed.

“We live in the Bahamas,” Bec tells us, “but we’re always moving between Melbourne and Sydney, depending on if there are people for Lleyton to hit with.”

When Woman’s Day speaks to Bec, she’s all smiles talking about their life on a Caribbean island. “It’s great,” she tells us. “Lovely – nice and hot. We’re settled over there. The kids are in school.”

It’s no secret though that Bec pines for Australia and desperately wants to move closer to her tight-knit inner circle. The recent sale of their Palm Beach luxury pad in Sydney for $4.6 million must have come as a blow to her while Lleyton loves living in the gated community in the Bahamas.

Bec sacrificed a promising showbiz career at a young age to support her husband’s tennis ambitions and raise their children. But sources say she longs to act again, especially as she watches her Home And Away love interest Chris Hemsworth and other former co-stars’ careers soar.

When questioned about a possible return to Summer Bay, Bec couldn’t hide her excitement. “I’d never say no, I’m so grateful for everything they did for me.

“I would love to get back into acting,” she tells the Herald Sun. “In the past 10 years, I guess it’s been a bit difficult as we haven’t been in one place at one time. Also, I’ve either been pregnant or breastfeeding. But now my kids are a little bit older, it’ll be easier.”
