The 28-year-old actress, who is currently promoting her new West End production Speed-the-Plow, reportedly told Time Out London that she would be keen to reprise her character of Cady Heron for another instalment – 10 years after the original.

“I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another Mean Girls,” Lohan said.

“Like an older version where they’re all housewives and they’re all cheating. That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it.”

The comedy, released in 2004, reached cult status and also starred Rachel McAdams as ‘plastics queen’ Regina George, Lacey Chabet as gasbagging gossip Gretchen Wieners, and Amanda Seyfried as blonde bimbo Karen Smith.

The film’s writer, Tina Fey, also starred in the film along with fellow comediennes Amy Poehler and Ana Gasteyer.

The film has had enduring popularity and helped launch the careers of McAdams and Seyfried who have gone on to become bona-fide A-list actors but Li-Lo has had a bit of a tough time adjusting to adult life in the spotlight.
