Last week a Judge told LiLo that she’ll need to complete those remaining hours by May 28 or face jail time.

Since last year, the Mean Girls star has lived in London where she starred in the West End play Speed the Plow, but her lawyer argued in court that she was unable to complete the hours there, due to travel limitations.

The judge agreed to let the troubled star complete her remaining community service at a pre-school in Brooklyn, a place she visited once before during her doco-series produced by Oprah Winfrey.

Despite the Judge making special arrangements, Lindsay was nowhere to be seen on what should have been her first day.

As she emerged from her first day of community service, reportedly arriving two hours late, the actress was spotted holding a copy of the Quran – which is the book of Islam.

Lindsay will be finishing her 125 hours of community service at the Duffield Children’s Centre in Brooklyn.

The Muslim holy book, teaches its readers to live a life free of alcohol, something which Lindsay has struggled with in the past.

This wouldn’t be the first time the former child-star has tried her hand at other religions, despite being brought up Catholic, she has also been known to dabble in Kabbalah and Buddhism.

During her reality series on Oprah Winfrey’s television network, Lindsay told the talk show host, “I’m a very spiritual person and I’ve become more spiritual as time has gone on.”
