After whispers earlier in the week that Liam Payne and his Mrs, Cheryl, had named their son Taylor, it’s since been claimed by UK paper The Sun that it’s a much quirkier moniker.
This is a former boy band star and a pop star, after all!
It was originally speculated they’d called their son Taylor.
According to the publication the new parents have dubbed their little one Bear Payne (cue Playschool‘s “There’s a bear in there!” jingle)
“Cheryl and Liam wanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name. They spent over a week getting to know him first before deciding so they got to know him first,” a source explained.
“They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth.”
“But they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him. They love their little baby Bear Payne and are truly over the moon and loving being parents for the first time together.”
It’s certainly not a traditional name but five-week-old Bear is in good company among the A-list tots with celeb chef Jamie Oliver’s oldest son rocking the name Buddy Bear. While Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone’s son is called Bear Blu.
Since welcoming his son, the 23-year-old singer has mused of his baby: “He’s great, he’s good. I love him and I miss him a lot.”
