Ahead of Father’s Day in Australia, Sunday, September 3rd, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have announced a winner of their ‘Doggy Dad of the Year’ award.
This year the honour went to the steamy-hot actor and animal activist, Liam Hemsworth.
The actor and partner of Miley Cyrus famously rescued his animal companions, Tani and Dora, from a shelter and is a huge advocate of animal adoption, saying, “If you’re going to get a dog, get a rescue.”
In case you need evidence…
And some more…
Oh heck, and one more!
We’re not even sorry!
“As any guardian of a rescued animal knows, no pedigree is equal to the joy you get from giving a homeless animal a happy life,” says PETA Associate Director of Campaigns Ashley Fruno. “Not only has Liam Hemsworth saved the lives of Tani and Dora, he’s also inspired countless people to go to their local shelter and adopt.”
Hemsworth, who is also a passionate vegan, frequently shares photos of his furry family on his Instagram account with the hashtag #rescuedogs.
Happy Father’s Day, to all you Doggy Dads out there.
