Aussie model and mother-to-three Lara Worthington has shared a rare new clip to promote her makeup line – with an emotional sentiment.
The 33-year-old took to Instagram this week to post a clip of herself going makeup-free at a beach while sampling her own makeup line, Share the Base.
While Lara has worked on the label for a number of years, we rarely see this side to the model on her social media platform – proof that her messaging behind it was all the more important.
In the one-minute clip, Lara applies her LB cream, which is a makeup-skincare hybrid, to her face.
The caption reads: “I wanted a hybrid of skincare and makeup. This. Is. That. If you like natural looking skin this is what you want! It is makeup for people who genuinely don’t want to cover their skin up to much. Your skin will stay your skin, ‘but better’.”
She ends the caption with an important note, revealing that 100 per cent of profits from The Base go to three Australian-based charities.
Fans were clearly taken with the new video, with one telling Lara: “Obsessed! I love seeing your natural skin here @laraworthington beautiful!”
Some of Lara’s A-list pals also added to the mix, with fellow model Elyse Taylor adding a drooling emoji, while Aussie TV host Renee Bargh wrote: “It is all of that! My fave”.
The makeup brand, originally called The Base, went not-for-profit last year after she originally founded it in 2014.
The brand’s continued evolvement meant the model was able to dedicate all proceeds she raised to go towards several Aussie charities.
“I felt that The Base had reached a point that was calling for growth, a fresh, exciting, new direction and so from this month forward, the brand becomes, Share The Base; a not-for-profit enterprise where 100% of the profits go to causes we believe in,” she explained on her website at the time.
“It is with hope that through this new model of thoughtfulness, we can all feel inspired to open our hearts – as there has never been a more important time to give your share.”
The brand features several shades of her signature LB cream, and gives shoppers the option as they purchase to pick one of three Aussie charities.
Some of the charities The Share Base has supported include the WWF, Bowel Cancer Australia and the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
Lara’s dedication to these charities, particularly Bowel Cancer Australia, is particularly personal, as her father passed away from the disease in 2008 when he was 55.
The model later became an ambassador for Bowel Cancer Australia, and spoke about the disease on its website.
“My dad, Graham, was a wonderful man. I loved him very much,” she said.
“He died from bowel cancer. He lived with it for almost two years without even knowing.
“Bowel cancer can be detected early and is treatable.
“I wish he was still here.”
Earlier this year, Lara welcomed her third child in secret amidst the COVID-19 lockdown.
New photos of her latest addition alongside husband Sam Worthington were obtained by the Daily Mail, confirming she had given birth.
The new family of five were spotted together with the couple’s two older children, sons Rocket, five, and Racer, three as they enjoyed a day out in California.
Known to be notoriously private, it’s very rare to catch a glimpse of Lara, let alone her entire family.
Which is why her new video is all the more special – particularly given it’s all for a worthy cause!
