Lady Gaga has officially confirmed her engagement to her long-term beau actor Taylor Kinney.
Lady Gaga officially confirmed the news this morning with an Instagram snap of a giant diamond ring on her finger, revealing that her boyfriend Taylor popped the question on the most romantic day of the year.
“He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!”
In true grandiose Gaga style, the ring in question is MASSIVE and heart-shaped.
Lady Gaga aka Stefani Germanotta, 28 , has been with the handsome actor since 2011 when they first met on the set of Gaga’s music video for the song “You & I” filmed in Nebraska. As a signal of things to come, Taylor was playing her handsome love interest while Gaga wore her mother’s actual wedding dress as a costume in some scenes.
After The Other Woman star, 33, popped the question, the couple reportedly celebrated into the wee hours at Joanne’s Trattoria, the New York restaurant still owned and operated by her family.
Their relationship hit the rocks in mid -2012 when the couple split briefly before getting back together the following month. Since then though they’ve been pictured many times looking blissfully in love as engagement rumours have surrounded them for some time.
“I really can’t imagine being with anyone other than who I’m with right now,” she told US radio presenter Howard Stern in December while avoiding answering questions about a rumoured engagement.
“He is the right guy,” she said. “I have that feeling. I just know it.”
Speaking on US radio station Sirius XM, Gaga revealed that in spite of her avant-garde personality on stage at home she loves nothing more than playing housewife while her hunky beau takes charge. “Oh yeah, he’s totally in charge,” she said. “When I’m home, I’m like, shoes are off, I’m making him dinner. He has a job too and he’s really busy.”
Gaga continued, “I’m in charge all day long. The last thing I wanna do is tell him what to do. It’s not good for relationships to tell men what to do, female listeners who are out there.”
Taylor gushed about his new fiancée last year saying, “[She] is someone who’s always in your corner, that believes in you and your work, and vice versa,” he told Us Weekly.
“You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself.”
