Kylie Minogueโ€™s days appear to be numbered as it revealed that the singer will soon change her iconic title.

After three decades of being a household name, the former Neighbours star has decided that, come her wedding to fiancรฉ Joshua Sasse, sheโ€™ll adopt his surname โ€“ itโ€™s a move she feels will make โ€œa statement.โ€

โ€œSasse is a great name. Kylie Sasse is a great name. Itโ€™s a great stage name,โ€ the Spinning Around songstress mused to The Daily Mail.

She goes on to reveal that, surprisingly, sheโ€™d never loved the flow of her real name.

โ€œKylie Minogue has never exactly tripped off the tongue. Iโ€™ll definitely be taking Sasse but there will be Minogue in there somewhere. Taking a different name makes a statement.โ€

The lucky-in-love pair couldnโ€™t be happier.

The 48-year-old accepted her younger beauโ€™s proposal in February of last year after five blissful months of dating.

Speaking of the intricate, rectangular ring sheโ€™ll don on her left hand for as long as they both shall live, Kylie reveals: โ€œIt was made in 1908.โ€

โ€œFor me, it is perfect. Iโ€™m not the sort of girl who would wear a solitaire. He got exactly the right ring for me. I love it. I love wearing it and I love what it represents.โ€

Look at that vintage sparkler!

But the pair, who met while filming on the set of US series Galavant, have halted their plans to marry in Kylieโ€™s hometown of Melbourne until each and every Australian can do the same.

โ€œI think you have to take a stand for what you believe in and support the people you love,โ€ she says.

โ€œOverseas same-sex weddings are recognised in South Australia now but it makes sense and seems only right to us to only get married when it is okay for everyone to be able to marry who they love.โ€

And the 29-year-old couldnโ€™t agree more. Previously speaking to the Seven Network, Josh spilled: โ€œThere are chances of a Melbourne wedding but me and Kylie have talked about it and we are not comfortable getting married until this law has passed.โ€

โ€œThat is something that weโ€™ve talked about and decided on. Why should we? Why is it fair? Why are we more important than anyone else? Itโ€™s not right and somethingโ€™s got to be done about it.โ€

โ€œI simply canโ€™t fathom on any level, whether itโ€™s moral, religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person I love and that somebody else doesnโ€™t just because of their sexual orientation.โ€

While it may be a new-age love story for the smitten duo, Kylie does resonate with the classic boy-meets-girl narrative from one of her favourite films, Notting Hill.

โ€œWhen I look into Joshโ€™s eyes, he is all I see and that makes me very happy.

โ€œThereโ€™s a line in the movie Notting Hill that I always think of, when Julia Roberts is talking to Hugh Grant, and she says: โ€˜Iโ€™m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.โ€™

โ€œFor me, itโ€™s that simple.โ€
