The pop princess, 47, and the reality star, 18, are embroiled in a legal stoush over their famous first names.

It’s a battle of the Kylies as Miss Minogue has tried to block the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star from trademarking the name Kylie.

The newly engaged star has turned to intellectual property law firm KDB, filing a counter-claim against Kylie Jenner.

According to The Sun, the singer’s team claim the Lip Kit creator is merely a “secondary reality TV personality who appeared on the television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a supporting character, to Ms. Jenner’s half sisters, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian (i.e. the Kardashians).”

If the younger Kylie was to have the title approved for patenting, the Grammy winner argues it would cause confusion and ultimately hinder her brand, which spans over three decades.

The one and only? Kylie Minogue’s career spans over three decades.

“Ms. Jenner is active on social media where her photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities,” Kylie Minogue’s legal team continue.

Before adding the Melbourne-born star has had a far greater impact on the community with her various charity endeavours. “[Kylie Minogue is an] internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian, and breast cancer activist,” the documents state.

Last year Kylie, who is dating rapper Tyga, drew criticism for posing in Interview Magazine in a wheelchair.

In February Kylie Jenner, pictured with boyfriend Tyga at NYFW, was slammed for cultural appropriation for wearing a Yaki.

Just last month, she was in hot water yet again for what many labelled cultural appropriation after she attended the Alexander Wang sporting at NYFW wearing a voluminous ponytail called a Yaki, which is commonly worn by African American women.

“So. This is Kylie Jenner. It must be so cool to be a Black woman for the aesthetics and face none of the issues,” one Twitter used pointed out. “Kylie Jenner wearing Yaki hair but swear she don’t wanna be black though,” another added.

Meanwhile on Sunday, the pint-sized singer took to Twitter to address the drama with her trademark humour.

“Hello….. My name is KYLIE #lightyears,” the Aussie penned, a layered reference to her critically acclaimed 2000 album and a nod to the wealth of experience she has amassed.

Kylie Jenner is yet to comment.
