Kylie Jenner’s lips have been the subject of much scrutiny over the past two years.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star first showed off noticeably fuller lips in 2014, but denied having fillers until last year.
Now, in a new interview with Complex magazine, the reality star has revealed that she had the treatment because she felt self-conscious about her natural pout.
“It has been an insecurity of mine all my life,” she told the magazine, before recalling a particularity cruel incident.
“This guy I kissed was like, ‘Your lips are really small but you’re a really good kisser. I didn’t think you were gonna be good at kissing,'” the 19-year-old confessed.
“It was so rude. From then on, I just felt like I saw guys staring at my lips. I felt like no one wanted to kiss me.”

Speaking about why she denied the treatment, Kylie said she didn’t want to be a bad role model for her fans, which include her 76 million Instagram followers.
“What if I came out and said, ‘Oh, yeah, I got my lips done’? What are all those mums going to think about me?” she said of her thought process.
“These kids, my fans, they’re going to think I’m crazy.”
Kylie says she had the treatment after a love interest criticised her thin lips.
“I didn’t want to be a bad influence. I didn’t want people to think you had to get your lips done to feel good about yourself. But they thought it was crazier that I was lying about it because it was so obvious. I wish I had just been honest and upfront.”
There has been speculation about Kylie having plastic surgery for a while now, but the teen maintains that she has never gone under the knife with permanent surgery, saying: “It’s annoying to hear every day that you’re just this fake, plastic person when you’re not.”
The star has also been making headlines for her sassy social media behaviour this week after a Twitter troll wrote, “@kyliejenner looks like a 14-year-old prostitute.”
Kylie, who generally doesn’t reply to comments on social media, was having none of it!
She quoted the tweet and responded, “Idk I feel like I look like a 19 year old prostitute.”
Now and then! Kylie has only ever admitted to having lip fillers but we hope she can see that she is a true natural beauty.
