Kristen Bell and actor husband Dax Shepard have always maintained that they’ll do their best to keep their children out of the spotlight, but they’ve found a novel way to introduce their newest addition to the world.
The mother of three year-old Lincoln and 20 month-old Delta, has shared a jokey first snap of her daughter via Instagram – although you might find it difficult to get a proper look at her.
The image shows Kristen in the foreground, with her hand underneath Dax and their daughter, who are tiny specks enjoying the water. She captioned the image: “First daddy daughter swim in lake Michigan – a right of passage for any Mitten baby”.
It’s a cute family snapshot, but we’re not expecting anything more detailed about the family’s life, since Kristen and Dax are notoriously low key about what goes on outside of the public eye. After the birth of baby Delta, Dax wrote an op-ed for the Huffington Post, where he called out the lack of privacy for celebrity children.
“I personally believe, and I understand a lot of people differ on this point, that protecting her includes keeping her life private until the moment she decides otherwise. I think she is entitled to that. I think every minor is entitled to that.”
He also explained that while he and wife Kristen “made a decision to get into show business and become public figures”, their daughter did not.
So while Kristen’s cute picture may not be detailed or very revealing, you have to admire their stance. Plus, it’s an adorable snapshot of their family life,– so we’ll take that!
