Legendary crooner Bette Midler stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night to serenade the audience to the tune of some of Kim Kardashian‘s tweets.
The talented singer – who is responsible for hits like Wind Beneath My Wings and From a Distance – was backed by a piano and actually made Mrs Kayne West‘s tiny internet entries sound like modern day lyrical genius, sort of.
While Kanye, who once called himself “the number one human being in music”, might have a fondness for combining food and sex in his raps – like when in Welcome to Heartbreak when the self-described ‘genius’ said, “Bad enough that I showed up late, I had to leave before they cut the cake,” or in I Am A God when he spit, “In a French a** restaurant, hurry up with my damn croissant,” or in The New Workout Plan where he rhymed, “All you mocha lattes, you gotta do pilates,” – his wife Kim also has some equally enlightened lyrics to offer.
Kim’s brilliance is rooted in what she knows best – vanity. Bette made good use of musings like “I never thought I would ever say this … but I’m wearing flats today,” and “Ugh I hate falling asleep with makeup on.”
All we can say is look out Kanye.
