Following a string of loving tweets, the 34-year-old reality star continued to show her support for her step-father’s gender transition by talking to Matt Lauer on the American breakfast show, Today.
“Bruce is the most honest… He has the biggest heart and I’m really happy for him that he is living his life the way he wants to live it and that he has found inner peace and just pure happiness,” Kim said.
“That’s what life is about. I don’t know what life would be like if you always felt like you weren’t yourself.”
The mother-of-one acknowledged that she, along with most of the public, could never truly understand what Bruce is going through.
“I don’t even think we have to,” Kim explained. “I think as long as he is happy and he wants to live his life however he wants to live it, that just makes me happy and I support him 100 per cent.”
The Kardashian and Jenner kids were faced with many questions including, “What do we call him? Do we say him or her? And how do we be respectful?”
“Bruce wants us to feel as comfortable as possible and take everything at our own pace, and we love him for that, and we respect him for that.
Adding, “Bruce has always been really really good at explaining everything to us, even though it’s really new and these have been newer feelings – not newer feelings for him but for us to digest. He’s done a really good job at walking us through it.”
The reality superstar also said it helps that her family is incredibly open and determined to go through this journey together.
“There were lots of family meetings. There was every emotion you could possibly imagine!”
Despite the transition being a “hard adjustment” for the Kardashian/Jenner clan, they “all really support him.”
“Say what you want about us, but we work out everything as a family and we have the best communication and we are so in sync with each other. We have each other to go through this experience, and I’m really grateful for that,” Kim mused.
Kim gushed about how proud she was of her step-father’s bravery and his actions will help others.
“That’s something that he’s really proud of, and something that he is really ready to take on and I’m really proud of him for that.”
