Kim Kardashian has opened up to Oprah Winfrey confessing that her struggles over the past year have made her a “different person”.
In one of her most candid interviews yet, 32-year-old Kim revealed to viewers of Oprah’s Next Chapter that her whirlwind, fairytale wedding and subsequent break-up from her ex, Kris Humphries, has changed her personality dramatically.
She compared her fresh insight on life with her sister Kourtney’s experience of having a baby.
“It’s like how Kourtney had this epiphany when she had her baby and she changed into a different person,” she said. “I feel like I’ve had an epiphany over the last year for what I’ve been through and I am that changed person, just from my own experiences.”
Oprah got Kim to give up some details on her relationship with Kanye West, 35, with Kim admitting that she liked the fact that he is a few years older than her.
“I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different, and now I just love that I’m with someone that’s a couple years older than me,” she said.
Oprah also asked whether the Kardashians’ success could be put down to their attractive genes.
Kim agreed that their prettiness is a factor, but said it is their unconventional beauty that is the real appeal.
“I don’t think it would have happened if we were all skinny pretty models,” she said. “I think it has to do with us, the curves, the dark hair — I think it was a combination.”
Oprah’s interview with Kim and the rest of the Kardashian clan aired on Sunday on US channel OWN.
