People confirmed that Khloe and the Houston Rockets player have called it a day and ended their romance.
“It hasn’t been easy. James obviously has wanted to see her more and be with her more, but she’s felt like she needed to stay in L.A. to be with her family and to deal with Lamar stuff,” a source close to the family admitted to the American publication.
“That has put some strain on things,” the insider added.
The pair were only a few months into their low-key romance before Lamar’s personal tragedy last October.

Us Weekly claimed that Khloe “dumped him three weeks ago.”
Around that time in mid-January, the blonde beauty took to Instagram to share a cryptic message after James was spotted leaving a notorious LA strip club with Tyga, who is dating Kylie Jenner.
“Stay away from people who make you feel like you are hard to love.”
In the past, Khloe addressed the unique situation she and James were in due to her ex’s ongoing issues but was adamant that he had been “very supportive and awesome.”
“I’m just allowing everything to unfold. If it’s ever too overwhelming [for him], then I understand that as well,” she said at the time.
James fitted into the Kardashian klan perfectly, but the strain of Lamar’s looming illness proved to be a deal breaker.
Heartbreak certainly hasn’t hindered the reality star searching for new horizons with her estranged husband.
Lamar, who was hospitalised last October after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, spent Sunday taking a hike with his former wife and her her sister Kim Kardashian West.
Kim took to Instagram to share the sweet family moment, penning, “Super Soul Sunday time before Super Bowl Sunday time with Khloe & Lamar.”
Taking recovery in his stride, it appears Lamar is doing well – especially when you consider that medics predicted he wasn’t going to make it.
This is the first time we’ve seen the 36-year-old up and about and walking after Khloe, 31, shared a video of the experience on her app.
Briefly, we catch a snip of Lamar before Khloe focuses the camera back onto herself, shouting with joy that they had “made it to the top!”
Despite the latest development, a source tells People magazine there’s still a long way to go for Lamar, who continues to receive both out-patient and home therapy.
Kim and Khloe shared the fun family day on their app.
“He still needs help walking,” the source said.
“Lamar is not driving himself and instead has a driver. Whenever he leaves the house, he looks happy. He looks alert and often smiles. He is definitely looking more like the old Lamar.”
Another insider tells E! News that Lamar has “a very positive attitude, Khloe is so proud of him. She encourages and motivates him everyday.”
Lamar Odom Junior shared the first photo of the basketball star since the accident. “Christmas with my pops. Here’s to 2016. Blessed,” The 13-year-old captured the touching family selfie.
During a recent appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Khloe confirmed that he is “really good” since his collapse.
“His long-term memory is great,” the reality star said.
“His short-term memory isn’t so good, but if I met someone earlier today, I probably wouldn’t remember either, so that’s understandable. But he’s great.”
“He’s hung out with Kourt’s and [Kim]’s kids. He loves family time. So, he’s been doing really good. I think it makes him feel good to be around everyone, too, and to just be in a happy environment over obviously where he was.”
