On Tuesday, the adored showbiz legend confirmed John had finally returned to their Sydney home after months of recovery and respite at the Prince of Wales hospital.

“Johns home. This is the day I’ve hoping and waiting waiting for since March 6th Thank you to each and everyone one of you. Forever thankful,” the 63-year-old beamed alongside a gorgeous photo of John surrounded by loved ones and of course, his adoring wife.

In between hospital visits, KAK has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure their home is wheelchair friendly.

“If all goes to plan he should be back in November, with Christmas here… that would be a true blessing,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald in September.

“It is a big job, floors need to be reinforced and beams put in, and the lift is only the beginning, we will need a lot of equipment and help for when we get him home. I’m waiting for the council to give me approval but we absolutely need the lift.”

It’s been no easy task but the presenter has managed to transform their eastern suburbs home just in time for Christmas.

John recently gave his first interview since his life-changing accident to Sunday Night, revealing his wife has been an incredible pillar of strength as he recovers.

“[Kerri-Anne] is very loving and she has been the strength of my whole recovery. Without her I don’t think I would have attempted it but, as I say, she was there when I woke up and she has been with me every day,” John explained.

“It is really, really been hard… I have appreciated it, she never faltered. Never faltered.”

And his improvements have developed in leaps and bounds.

“My legs have come on very well, I have even got to the point where I can stand in the swimming pool and I can actually walk a bit of a way unassisted, it might not look very pretty, but I can walk and that gives you an amazing amount of self-confidence and make you feel things are getting better” John said.

In March, Kerri-Anne and John’s world was turned upside down after John suffered a freak fall at a golfing event in Coffs Harbour which fractured his C3 and C4 vertebrae at the base of his neck, and was diagnosed as in incomplete quadriplegic.

Cheers to John’s homecoming! The couple can’t wait to spend Christmas together. (Pic/Sunday Night)
