She one of Australia’s most stylish stars but Kerri-Anne will happily forgo lavish gifts to have the most important thing on Christmas day – her husband, John, by her side back in their family home.
The TV personality recently chatted to SMH‘s Private Sydney column about her goal for the end of the year.
“If all goes to plan he should be back in November, with Christmas here … that would be a true blessing,” she said.
“It is a big job, floors need to be reinforced and beams put in, and the lift is only the beginning, we will need a lot of equipment and help for when we get him home. I’m waiting for the council to give me approval but we absolutely need the lift,” KAK explained of refurbishing their Sydney home so it can suit John’s needs following his accident earlier in the year.
John, who just celebrated 32 years of marriage to his wife, still has a long way to go.
Kerri-Anne’s partner has made huge progress since the March fall which left him with fractures to his C2 and C3 vertebrae, but will still require around the clock attention.
“I still wake up wondering if it had been a nightmare… but there is no other alternative, you just have to keep going forward, I have to for John’s sake,” the 63-year-old admitted last week.

John looked healthy and happy with his wife by his side, as he rung in 76!
Just two weeks ago, John reached an exciting milestone – turning 76!
Of course the bubbly TV personality was by her man’s side, ready make an occasion out of it.
Sharing a photo from the birthday boy’s hospital bed, the television favourite embraced her leading man, as she held onto his cake and balloons at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.
Alongside the snap [pictured above], Kerri-Anne penned, “Hip Hip Hooray it’s John’s birthday today.”
KAK and John have been married for an astounding 32 years!
But even from his hospital bed, John managed to surprise his Mrs!
“He asked me to get something out of his wardrobe,” she recalled to Private Sydney.
“I was rummaging through and came across a huge Chanel bag… I said: ‘what’s this?’ and the cheeky bugger had managed to get someone to go online, find the bag and had the people from Chanel send it to the hospital to surprise me!”
“I said: ‘You can’t go spending money on things like this anymore John’ but he told me: ‘I can’t do much for you anymore darling, but I knew you would love the bag.'”
“And I do!”
These two really show that love can known no bounds.
