Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s plans are on hold as she awaits Typhoon Haima to pass through Macao.
The adored presenter was a guest speaker at the Pink Inspired breast cancer charity lunch, which was being held at the Conrad Macau hotel, when news of the impending typhoon broke.
Thankfully, the extreme weather conditions didn’t impact the fundraiser event.
“They made sure the event finished on time so people could get out,” Kerri-Anne Kennerley tells Woman’s Day.
For now, she’s holed up in her hotel room and letting the typhoon pass before she catches a flight to Hong Kong.
“Everything is OK! I’m at the Conrad hotel. There is a typhoon 8, it only goes 1-10. It’s not raining but they expect it to come in,” the 63-year-old told us.
And in her trademark way, KAK managed to see the humour in the situation.
“The worst thing is, there are literally thousands and thousands of the best shops in the world. Between The Venetian and the New Parisian – they’re all closed,” she laughed.
“I’m going to Hong Kong tomorrow, so hopefully I can fly by then. It does come in and out fairly quickly.”
Typhoon Haima has been wreaking havoc in Hong Kong for the past few days and experts believe Macao will likely be hit next.
