Kerri-Anne sat down with Channel Seven’s Sunday Night to talk about the tragedy.
In the exclusive interview, that will air next week, KAK explains how it all “happened so fast” with John telling his wife, “I can’t feel anything,” following his terrible fall.
“I sort of wake up every day thinking, ‘what a shocker nightmare that was!’”
Before adding, “Unfortunately it’s not a nightmare.”
In the minute clip, the beloved blonde recalls her husband-of-32-years saying, “The only reason I’m trying is for you.”
Reflecting on the whole incident, Kerri-Anne quipped, “It’s the sliding doors of life.”
The 75-year-old is currently on a ventilator but his breathing has improved since specialists operated on fractures to his C2 and C3 vertebrae.
In a statement from her manager, Sean Anderson said: “John is communicating with Kerri-Anne and medical staff.
Today was actually companion day so patients were able to bring in their pets. Kerri-Anne brought in their beloved golden retriever Digger for a visit with John in ICU which was appreciated by John.”
Kerri-Anne added: “While this is the most traumatic and devastating news we have been overwhelmed with messages of good wishes and prayers. Thanks to all,”
