Bachelor in Paradise bigwigs had their eyes on Aussie Bachie faves Keira Maguire and Samuel Johnston, but after the latest saga, the duo tell NW they’ve pulled the plug on the show.
Yep, the home-grown hotties were all set to appear on the US reality program, Bachelor in Paradise until scandal rocked the set earlier this month.
ICYMI the series has been shutdown due to a series of sexual assault allegations between contestants, Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson.
Now, both Keira and Sam have confirmed their plans are on hold and they’re thankful they weren’t caught up in the drama.
“I had my bags packed and ready to go, then on Sunday morning, I woke up and literally had five missed calls,” Keira reveals. “I was like, ‘something’s happened.’”
Meanwhile Sam tells us: “I’m very shocked and surprised [the production company] would blatantly ignore their duty of care. I’m glad to have not been part of a show where that kind of thing can happen.”
But while he’s no longer headed to paradise, we’re still a little confused as to why Sam was going in the first place, given he’s meant to be dating Keira’s former Bachie co-star Noni Janur.
Back in February Noni confirmed the pair’s relationship, posting a pic of the pair kissing alongside the caption, “Little did I know I was on the wrong show. But maybe I came out the winner after all. In this weird, crazy world somehow I got to meet you. Happy Valentine’s Day @samuelrjohnston”.
But, now with Sam all ready to appear on Bachelor in Paradise could their relationship be on the rocks?
