Keira Knightley has married her rocker boyfriend James Righton in a low-key wedding in the south of France.
The 28-year-old actress wore a short cream tulle dress, cropped Chanel jacket, ballet flats and daisies in her hair and was so excited she was photographed skipping on her way to the ceremony, hand-in-hand with James, 29.
The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of just 11 people in the town hall of the hilltop village of Mazan in Provence.
Guests included Keira’s mother Sharman Macdonald, her husband, actor Will Knightley, and James’ Klaxons bandmates.
After the ceremony, the couple headed back to Keira’s family’s nearby farmhouse, to continue the celebrations with a lavish reception for 50 guests including Sienna Miller and Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Keira met James — the singer and keyboardist with pop band the Klaxons — in 2011. They got engaged in May 2012.
The ceremony was performed by the town’s mayor Aime Navello, who admitted he had never heard of the famous couple.
“Normally I know most of the couples I marry,” Navello told the UK’s Daily Mail. “Many of them are children I used to teach, but I haven’t heard of Keira, nor for that matter James.
“Keira was a charming bride, very modest and simple in her attitude, as was James. I got the impression that it was a very moving experience for both of them.”
A guest confirmed Keira found the ceremony emotional, telling reporters outside the venue: “It was a very moving ceremony. Keira looked extremely moved by the whole thing — there were certainly tears of happiness.”
