The Rise songstress eagerly chatted to Women’s Wear Daily about her boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
Despite his very admirable assets , the 31-year-old admitted she does have one complaint about being with him.
“My boyfriend lives in Malibu and getting used to that [drive] was like, ‘Are you kidding me? What kind of life is this?'”
The Santa Barbara native continued about the one-hour plus commute, “There’s no pop-over and I never really got used to Malibu ’cause it’s halfway to Santa Barbara, so I’m always just going to Santa Barbara then.”
“I get the whole coming to L.A. and living by the beach thing. But it’s really like, it’s so far, nobody [who lives in town] is going to come see you.”

Katy officially confirmed her romance with Orlando on Instagram with this cute snap.
The couple have figured out a balance, with Orlando regularly visiting her too.
“I still spend a lot of time there because I grew up there,” Katy said, later adding, “I grew up in the poorest part of Santa Barbara… Actually my boyfriend didn’t even believe me and I was like, ‘I’m going to drive you by my house’ and you can Google Earth it.”
“I basically had a crazy church-filled, God squad upbringing,” she admitted.
“I lived on food stamps and food bank in Santa Barbara, which is like a crazy juxtaposition to live in beauty and still have a bit of a struggle, but that’s just because of the nature of the church.”
Katy is completely smitten!
The Lord of the Rings star hit it off with Russell Brand’s ex-wife earlier this year at the Golden Globe Awards.
39-year-old Orlando, who was previously married to Miranda Kerr until their 2013 divorced, is the proud papa to five-year-old Flynn.
According to E! News, the broody actor would love to settle down with Katy.
“They are in love and happier than ever. [Orlando] would like to get engaged to [Katy] before the year is up,” a source close to the pair told the entertainment site.
“[Marriage and children] is something Katy has always wanted when she met the man she was ready to settle down with,” the insider adds.
