Katie Holmes plans to send her daughter Suri to acting lessons, setting her on a path to follow in the footsteps of her famous mother and father.
Holmes will reportedly enrol Suri in lessons when she turns eight in April with a source telling the Daily Star that the actress and single mother wants her daughter to have a grounding in stage performance in order to learn her craft effectively.
“Katie is wary of Suri stepping any further into the crazy showbiz world than she is already,” the source said.
“But if that’s her daughter’s dream she doesn’t want to stand in her way.”
The only child of Holmes and Hollywood legend Tom Cruise stands in good stead to pursue an acting career, being blessed with her mother’s looks and a famous Hollywood surname.
Katie Holmes has been progressively opening up Suri’s life following the actress’ high profile divorce in 2012 from Cruise, who is a devout Scientologist.
The mother and daughter relocated from California to New York where Suri now attends an exclusive private school after being home-schooled for her early years.
They live in an apartment in the Chelsea neighbourhood which Holmes says has provided them with a sense of community.
“I love the theatre, the galleries in my neighborhood. Stuff (like) that is so much of what makes me love this city. I love the Knicks. I love talking to my neighbors in the elevator. I like feeling a part of something big,” Holmes told People.
