People have confirmed that the celebrity parents welcomed a darling baby boy, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. last year on December 20.
Little Joshua is the couple’s third child, joining big sisters Adalaide, 4½, and Naleigh, 8.
Last year, the now-mother-of-three confirmed that after adopting her first two children, she and her husband were expecting via a picture of her sonogram on Instagram.
The proud parents shared a statement after they discovered they were expecting a new addition to their family.
“The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family,” the couple penned in a letter to People.
“Naleigh and Adalaide [pictured below] could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold, and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude.”
“This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation and hormones. Well, only I’m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them,” the star joked.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally share this news with our fans, and are looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you all.”
The 38-year-old became a household name when she starred in the hit TV show Grey’s Anatomy.
Taking to her blog, Katherine shared her experiences on becoming a first-time biological mother.
“We were considering adoption again, fostering, or pregnancy if possible,” she explained.
“Seeing as I have never been pregnant and as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I’m of advanced maternal age, I wasn’t sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us.”
“Turns out it was very much in the cards!”
Katherine debuted her baby bump last year at the TCA Summer Tour Party.
