The mother of the princess-in-waiting hints that Kate is sick of putting her life on hold and playing second fiddle to William’s royal duties.
The mother of princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton has told friends that her daughter may never marry Prince William.
It’s come as a huge shock to royal watchers, who were expecting an engagement announcement in the New Year.
A disappointed Carole Middleton has confided to close friends that Wills’ military plans have thrown a spanner in the works and that Kate, who turns 27 on January 9, may be left waiting for her Prince to pop the question.
In November, William, 26, announced that he’d be delaying his retirement from military duty until age 31, serving with the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue squadron. He reportedly told Kate that his “military has to come first”.
“Carole is very concerned that it might not happen,” a friend told London’s Daily Mail newspaper. “She was at a social event recently and Kate and William came up in conversation. Carole said, ‘Of course, we just don’t know what Kate’s going to do now’.
“The feeling is very much that there might not be a wedding at all.”
