Kate Winslet opens up about losing her baby weight

Kate Winslet baby weight loss

Kate Winslet isn’t obsessed with having the perfect body; in fact she rates happiness (and a good feed) over everything!

“There’s a big part of me—now, more than ever before—that feels a sense of responsibility for how other women view themselves,” Kate said in a recent interview with the UK’s Harper’s Bazaar.

“Take having the baby, for instance. Have I actively been on a diet to lose my baby weight? No, I haven’t. I genuinely bloody haven’t. I so didn’t want to be one of those, ‘Oh, wow, she’s back in shape after 12 weeks’ women. When I read things like that I just think, oh, for f–k’s sake, that’s actually impossible.”

After giving birth to her third child in December 2013, a son named Bear with her husband Ned RocknRoll, and she revealed losing baby weight was the furthest thing from her mind!

“Life is just too short to be spending time focusing on things like that. I want to keep my health and my sanity and be well fed and happy,” she continued.

“I was nowhere near my pre-pregnancy shape when Bear was 12 weeks old…And you know what? My body will never go back to what it was, and I wouldn’t expect it to after three babies.”

The stunning 39-year-old actress is all about embracing what she’s got.

“What is so gorgeous about being the age I am is that all the ridiculous angst I might once have felt about having a bit of cellulite, or being a bit puffy in the face, or whatever, has evaporated,” she said. “I simply can’t believe I ever spent any time wasting my life on that nonsense.”

The Oscar-winning actress also got candid about raising her three kids  – daughter Mia, 14, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton; son Joe, 11, from her second marriage to director Sam Mendes; and 15-month-old son Bear with her current husband, Ned RocknRoll –  during emotionally difficult times.

Kate, though divorced twice, isn’t scared about the experiences having a negative impact on her family.

“I think it’s very important to teach your children to struggle on some level. I wouldn’t change a thing. Even all the bad bits. It doesn’t matter how [bad] times have been, they all matter, because those things shape who you are.”

We love Kate’s modern family and her outlook on life!
