Kate Richie has delighted fans after sharing a sweet snap of daughter Mae and former Home and Away co-star Ray Meagher to her Instagram.
”Breakfast with these two precious humans was just splendid,” the 44 mother of one captioned the post, sharing it while on holiday in Noosa, Queensland.
The actress starred in the drama from the very first episode in 1988 and remained in the role of Sally Fletcher until 2008, where her character departed for Phuket, Thailand.
This snap of Ray and Mae was like taking a trip back in time!

As for Ray? Well, like Katie, he starred in the very first episode of Home and Away in 1988, remaining in the role of Alf Stewart to this day. He even holds a Guinness World Record for being the longest serving actor in an Australian serial.
Given Kate grew up on set (and on camera) alongside Ray, many long time fans were quick to point out that the photo was like looking back in time at a young Kate and younger Ray.
”How wonderful! Ray gets to be a part of Mae’s life, too. What a blessing,” one fan commented.
‘It’s ‘Alf and Sally!,” another said, noting the likeness of Kate’s mini me daughter.
”You’d be thinking, ‘flamin’ heck, there’s Sally and Alf over there!”
Kate and Ray have a very special bond.
(Image: Seven)In a special appearance on This is Your Life in October 2022, Kate spoke candidly about her relationship with Ray over the past 30 plus years.
”Ray is really so much of what I learned as a person, but also a performer,” Kate said, clinging onto Ray’s hand who sat beside her.
”And for both of us, we’ve played those characters so long that there is so much of us within them.
‘”So when I watched that footage [of Home and Away]… I actually see two friends. He’s watched me grow from a girl into a woman, and he’s really proud of me. So, I’m glad I’ve made you proud. Thank you,” she said as Meagher appeared visibly moved.
It is certainly heart-warming to see that while they no longer work alongside each other, Ray is still a huge part of Kate’s life and now her daughter Mae’s.
