Kate and Pippa talk bodies, babies and boys

The Middleton girls are more than just stunning sisters – they’re best friends.

Strolling across the pebbles of a remote Welsh beach, the two young women attract little attention as they chat in the sunshine. The only clue that these are the world’s most famous sisters – the Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton – are the bodyguards, a man and a woman, following discreetly behind them.

To many, the girly seaside gossip in Kate’s adopted home of Anglesey seemed like a reunion for the sisters, who live 400km apart and have rarely been seen together since the royal wedding. But despite rumours of a feud between them, Woman’s Day can reveal Kate, 29, and Pippa, 27, are closer than ever and have had frequent secret meetings to discuss bodies, blokes and babies!

“They see each other at least once a week,” royal biographer Katie Nicholl says. “Kate often joins Pippa at the family home in Bucklebury, and Pippa’s helping her move into Kensington Palace. They’re never apart for long. You don’t hear about it because they keep things quiet.” On this occasion, it’s believed the sisters caught up on family matters, discussed Kate’s recent visit to riot-torn Birmingham in England and made plans for Pippa’s birthday on September 6. But the main topic of conversation was, as usual, the dramatic ways in which their lives have changed since April’s royal wedding.

Once a social butterfly, Kate is now a housewife in remote Wales, while her husband Prince William spends long hours working at the nearby RAF base. With so many solitary hours and few close friends, Kate has come to rely heavily on her younger sister as a confidante. “This runs deeper than sibling affection,” says Katie, author of The Making Of A Royal Romance. “Pippa is the one person Kate can implicitly trust. She can be as candid as she needs to be. If she needs to get anything off her chest, she can tell Pippa and know the confession will stay between them.”
